Ms.Mathis is an associate whose practice focuses on intellectual property, estate planning, Medicaid planning and Medicaid qualification, and guardianships. She has extensive experience advising clients about trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, including how to protect, register, and enforce those rights. She has experience with license agreements and domain name disputes. She also counsels clients on wills, living trusts, and financial and healthcare powers of attorney. She prepares custom estate plans and represents clients in guardianship proceedings. She is a member of the firm´s Community Outreach Program and offers free seminars on estate planning and intellectual property. Ms. Mathis is a qualified neutral mediator with the Northern District of Illinois' Lanham Act Mediation Program and is available to serve as a mediator for the resolution of trademark disputes.

Ms.Mathis graduated from Thornton Fractional South High School in 1995 and received her Bachelor´s Degree cum laude from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999. She majored in political science and speech communication, minored in psychology, and was a member of the Mock Trial Team.She attended law school at DePaul University College of Law and earned her Juris Doctor and an Intellectual Property Certificate in 2002.

Ms.Mathis is admitted to the State Bars of Indiana and Illinois. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Indiana and the Northern District of Illinois, as well as the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S.Supreme Court. Ms. Mathis is a certified subject matter expert for the Northwest Indiana SCORE organization. She is also a member of the Lake County Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and Women Lawyers Association of Indiana.
